References
At time of application the Certified Master Builder Corporation™ collects references from suppliers, subcontractors, financial institutions and homeowners.
Annual re-certification requirements include randomly chosen references from homes purchased the previous year.
Experience
An established history of residential construction, volume of homes and monetary criteria. (Minimum of five years experience prior to making application)
Financial
At time of initial application, and for each annual certification, every company is reviewed for compliance with current and historical fiduciary responsibility criteria.
Warranty
Builder and Remodelor companies must provide a minimum first-year warranty on all residential construction. Every warranty must include the option of the homeowner to compel the company to settle disputes through the conciliation/arbitration procedures of the CMBC Program.
Performance Standards
Certified Master Builder and Remodeler companies have written, nationally accepted, performance standards by which work may be evaluated. These standards are available for buyer review.
Education
Representatives of the Builder/Remodeler companies are required to fulfill continuing education requirements which help members stay current with business management, industry standards/requirements, codes and products.
